Should I shoot a flat field?
Yes, it evens light
Yes. A flat field is one frame of the empty, lit film gate, shot with the same camera settings as your scans. Conversion software uses it to remove light falloff and lens vignetting, so corners match the center. Shoot a new one whenever you change the lens, aperture or light mode.
