How does a General Film Labs scanner work?

You mount your camera above the scanner, feed in the film, and press start. The motor advances the roll, Intelligent Image Detection reads the live image from your camera and stops each frame in position, and the scanner triggers the shutter. Then the film moves on to the next frame until the roll is done.
